The Athena Project ran ASSET surveys in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Over 7,500 men and women working in more than 70 universities responded to the surveys.

An introduction to the main higher education findings from all three surveys was reported to the Royal Society-hosted Athena Forum in Headline Findings on Women's Career Progression and Representation in Academic Science from the 2003/04 and 2006 Surveys.

The first ASSET survey was undertaken in 2003. Athena Project Report 26 describes the methodology and main survey findings.

An introduction to how the Athena Project used the data from the ASSET survey in 2004 is provided in Getting There: The Athena Surveys of Science, Engineering and Technology (ASSET) a survey of the career progression of over 6,500 scientists in UK HE and research - the whys and wherefores and using the findings.

Finings from the 2004 survey are contextualised in Maximising UK ASSETS - Developing an action agenda to tackle the key issues identified by ASSET
